After all, I promised, you when you become a member of

help in your Long Distance Relationship, right?.
Well, if you are a member for some time, for sure you already
notice,that for more than 1 month I don't write to you, I even don't
answer to your emails!
Why?
Well, a lot of things happen in my life, and I feel so lost, so
confused, and scared!
No, I didn't end my Long Distance Relationship, al least that!
Thanks God, and I must say to you, that love is what's making me
not to lost my mind completely.
But let me tell you what happen to me.
Well, it all started in middle of May. For sure, by now, you know
that the only reason why me and my beloved are not together yet,
it's because it's so difficult to find a job form him here, and as
we don't want him to come to be here without working, our target is
to start a business, so we can run it together.
Well, last May, I went to a franchise exposition, and there was
there some good opportunities.
After going to several interviews, for a couple of chosen
business, I end by selecting what we thought it was the best
business for me to start now.
I will not say the name of the franchise because I want to protect
the good name of the owner of the franchise. It's an international
franchise, for long years, and as far I can know, it's a good
franchise outside Portugal.
Until now, there is nothing of the kind here in Portugal. Well,
more or less! Just keep reading and very soon you will find the
reason why I say "more or less".
So, since the beginning of June, I have been really busy going to
that franchise interviews, and a lot more, very soon you also will
find why I say "and a lot more"!
I was not kidding. I really did chose that franchise because it's a
big international success, and it's a good product that helps and
gives value to people life's.
And it was my chance for starting a business here, and finally be
together, for real life, with my beloved.
The "problem" was that I didn't had all the money to buy my entrance
in the franchise. And at the end that was my "salvation", and once
more very soon you will also find why I say "my salvation"!
So, I would need to go to the bank to borrow some "big" money.
Well, no problem. While I was waiting for the response of the bank,
I should give some money to reserve my place in the franchise, and
after I had 2 months to get the rest of the money, and take care of
the legal stuff.
If after those 2 months, I could not get the rest of the money, or
if for some reason I decided not to follow, then they would give me
the entrance money back.
They told me, that they didn't wanted the money just for the money!
What they really wanted was a person with the rigth profile to run
the franchise, and I was that kind of person.
They also told me that they had interview other people, and that
the others didn't had the profile that they were searching. But I
had!
Well, all ok, until one day they ask me the following question:
"Maria, you have the money, of your own, to pay for the
reservation, or you also will ask that money to the bank?"
Of course I had that kind of money of my own! So, they say that I
have the rigth profile for their franchise, and they were thinking
that I would have the idea of starting a business, without any money
at all, of my own?
I don't know how to explain, but that question trigger, inside me,
some bad feeling about them, it was not a smart question!
So I decided to do a real "field" investigation, and I found that
Portuguese consumers are not receptive to that kind of product,
because some years ago, there was here, a similar product, but it
was so extremely bad, that people don't trust anymore in that kind
of products at all.
I guess, it's kind of what happens to us, when we have a really bad
love relationship experience! We tend to think that all future
relationships will also be bad!
And I found something very interesting! I found that more than 1
year ago, another company try to bring that kind of franchise to
Portugal, but it didn't succeed.
When I told them what I had found, they did admit that it was true.
That in fact there was in the past a so bad product, here in
Portugal, that did leave a really bad image, in Portuguese
consumers, about those kind of products. But that their product is
good. And in fact it is. I have proves of that. But no matter how
good is their product, the fact is that it will be so difficult to
change the bad image. Not impossible, but so difficult!
And for the first time, they also admit that they were not the
first company to bring that kind of franchise to Portugal (but
until that day, they told me, that they were the first and only
ones!).
That it was true, more than 1 year ago, another company did bring
to Portugal, the same kind of product, from another brand (but for
what I could find as good as their brand!).
But they told me, that the other company bring the franchise to
Portugal, more than 1 year ago, not to make it a franchise, but
because they wanted to use the product inside their company, just
for them.
WHAT?! If a company wants to use a product, there is no need to
buy a master Portuguese franchise!
A master franchise it's really really expensive!
If they just wanted to use the product inside their company, it
would be far less expensive, just to import the product!
But they were not expecting to listen the following, for me: "I did
call to the other company, and they told me that their first idea,
was to franchise the product, but as they didn't succeed, they end
just by using for them".
"Did you speak with them, and they told you that?!", they ask me in
complete surprise!
It was to late! As you can imagine, by now, I had "red flags" all
over my head!
Why they were not honest with me from the beginning?
Why they told me, that they were the first ever to bring that kind
of franchise to Portugal?
And why they bring that franchise to Portugal? Did they search the
market like I did? It will be so difficult to erase the bad image
that Portuguese have, from the past, about that kind of product!
Well, what all this have to do with "When Sharks Smells Blood...".?
The "problem" was that as soon they found that I did my research,
and I had made the decision of not buy their franchise, that I did
want to quit. I did feel like I was a little blooding "fish" in the
middle of big sharks, and I was not "fish" enough for them!
They already had taken me for granted, they were so sure that I
would buy their franchise.
They didn't accept very well my decision, and they don't leave me
in peace, they keep calling me all time.
I more than feel that they are desperate to "get" me! And I feel so
afraid!
Mind here, that I do believe in franchising, I just had a bad
experience.
My God, just thinking that I was almost getting in debt, and that I
would lose all my little savings, in a bad business.
I am still in shock! What was I doing to do with my life?
You know the feeling, when you put all your beliefs, all your
energy, all your action in one target, thinking that you are
building something better for your future, and at the end you
realize that it would be such a huge "mistake"!
But that is not all what happen to me in this last month!
I also have serious health and money problems in my family.
And if that was not enough, my beloved is so sick, and he is alone!
There is nobody, there, to take care of him, not even to make a tea
for him to take medication!
That breaks my heart! I want to run away, go with him, but I can't!
Until the end of summer, I can't have holidays at my job!
My head is like a washing machine! But now I am back to you again!

Now, the question is how to create a truly credible business plan which gives security to you and your beloved.
What remains true? Well, there is your love of each other. His health is not good, but I can perhaps help you with this question. You say that life is change. When what a person does in their life, how they live, what they eat all comes together; when this combination is not so healthy, then poor health results.
What is your true purpose? both of you? To have love, happiness, your lives together and your material needs met, yes?
With franchises, I know that those which are best ask for the most money. And even the best have a lifespan. One must always be aware of this. Again, as you say life is change.
Now, the question is can you both combine your efforts to obtain a truly bone fide franchise?
The second question is, "Is your beloved willing to make the changes necessary to create good and lasting health in his life?" It is difficult to have peace with a lingering fear of poor health.
I can perhaps help you with both questions. I have spent most of my life working for myself. I have earlier lived in one of the more successful cities in the world, Toronto, Canada.
In addition to having some "difficult" businesses at the early years; in time, I learned what worked, and what worked best for me.
In between those businesses I spent over five years of my life researching suppressed health information. The more I learned how much this information is suppressed the more obsessed I became to find and learn all of it.
